Privacy Policy

Short version: we don’t collect anything.

Last updated: June 2026

What we collect

Nothing. Misty Faces does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. There is no account, no analytics SDK, no advertising network, no crash reporter, and no telemetry of any kind. The app contains no third-party tracking SDKs.

Where your photos go

Photos you load into Misty Faces — whether picked from your library or captured with the in-app camera — stay entirely on your device. Face detection, blurring, and export all happen locally using Apple’s on-device frameworks (Vision, Core Image, Photos). Your photos never reach a server we operate, and never reach any third party.

Face data

Misty Faces detects face regions in your photos using Apple’s Vision framework, entirely on your device, for one purpose only: positioning the blur effect you apply. The app performs no facial recognition, creates no faceprints or biometric templates, and cannot identify anyone. Face detection results are never collected, never stored on disk, never transmitted, and never shared with anyone — they exist only in the app’s memory while you edit and are discarded when you close the editor. Your photos never leave your device.

In-app purchases

Misty Faces offers one free blur, then a single one-time in-app purchase (“Misty Faces Unlimited”) that unlocks unlimited use for good. Payment is processed entirely by Apple through your Apple Account. Lunabee Studio does not receive, collect, or store any payment or identity data — no card number, no billing address, no name. The transaction and billing are handled by Apple / the App Store.

Your purchase status is verified locally on your device by Apple’s StoreKit and works offline. The only thing stored locally is a simple “free blur used” flag kept in the iOS Keychain — it contains no personal data. Restoring your purchase is handled by Apple.

Permissions we request

You can revoke either permission at any time in Settings → Misty Faces.

Metadata in exported photos

When you export a photo, Misty Faces lets you choose whether to keep, partially strip (location only), or fully strip the EXIF metadata embedded by your camera. The default is to strip GPS coordinates so your shared photos don’t accidentally leak where they were taken. Your last choice is remembered locally on your device.

Network

Misty Faces does not make any network requests of its own. The app does not include any networking code; the only outbound traffic possible is through Apple’s StoreKit (to process your in-app purchase) and the system share sheet — which you control entirely (e.g. when you choose to send the photo via Messages or Mail).

Children

Misty Faces is intended for general audiences. Because no data is collected or transmitted, no information about children (or anyone else) is processed by us.

Changes to this policy

If we ever add a feature that involves data collection, we’ll update this page and clearly disclose the change in the app before it’s enabled.
